PROFESSIONAL AND VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE
FOUNDER, INTERSECTIONAL CONNECTIONS, LLC
Avery founded Intersectional Connections as a first step toward combining all of his experiences to serve the community. He is specifically engaged in educational work focused on creating dialogue and transformative experiences.
MENTORSHIP
Avery has been and continues to be engaged in mentorship at every level - mentor, mentee, and program facilitator. He has experience with mentor coaching and equity-driven program assessment.
HIGHER EDUCATION
Areas of practice and training include but are not limited to: program development and assessment, supervision, leadership development, university budget management, residential life programming, conduct and Title IX judication, facility management, and crisis management.
SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING
Avery has worked with neurodiverse and neurotypical students from ages elementary school through college to grow their social skills along both interpersonal and intrapersonal dimensions. Areas of practice and training include program management, workshop creation and facilitation, and coaching.
LEADERSHIP FORMATION
Experience in a variety of settings including nonprofit, universities, and public schools in both volunteer and paid positions. Avery is skilled in creating values-driven and research-informed opportunities designed to help folks achieve their fullest potential. Transformational, Strengths-driven, and Reflective leadership strategies are areas of particular passion.
